Causes of A Panic Attack - How To Stop A Panic Attack

Panic attacks seem to come without warning and yet the incident that triggers it perhaps happened several hours ago. Then the thought cycle, the fear that another attack will happen and then it does happen. Is there a way to stop a panic attack?

Those who have never suffered a panic attack cannot appreciate it, can't understand why you can't go to work, why you can't go to the store, why you can't... But it is very real to you - it comes complete with a terror kit that might include shortness of breath, heart palpitations, sweating, trembling, shaking, and a host of other horrors. How can anyone know or understand unless they've been there?

Panic attacks are consuming moments of sheer terror and dis-empowerment. And one of your biggest fears is that this thing might comeback at anytime and you have no control. And you begin to anticipate new attacks, expecting them fearing them even though they have yet to happen.

First step is accept that you will have one and stop fearing it. This is how you begin to stop a panic attack. When you learn to give up the fear of having a panic attack you will have broken the back of this vicious cycle. This is the key factor that will allow you to completely end panic attacks. That’s right, it is not drugs, or medication, lifestyle changes, none of that. It is when you learn not to fear having a panic attack. What Roosevelt said of the great depression is true for panic attacks, “there is nothing to fear but fear itself.”

You will learn to break the fear and live a life of confidence and a simple faith. Your new skills will soon be second nature and panic attacks will be a thing of the past and you will have your life back. You will get past this. It may be a dark time but the only thing to fear is the fear and that is the thing you will be giving up.
